Discovered in 1966, cannabichromene (CBC) is one of the lesser-known cannabinoids, yet it plays a critical role in the entourage effect—the synergy between cannabinoids that enhances their overall impact. Unlike THC, CBC is non-intoxicating, meaning it doesn’t produce the characteristic “high” associated with cannabis. It is found in cannabis and hemp plants, with higher concentrations typically present in younger plants.

CBC interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system, particularly targeting receptors linked to mood and overall balance. While it does not bind strongly to CB1 receptors in the brain, it is believed to have a complex interaction with other cannabinoids, making it an essential component in full-spectrum hemp extracts.
